Technical Writer
Job Description
Immediate full time position available in Huntington Beach, CA Work for a Technical Writer. Work involves developing technical documentation supporting Mission Planning software for the Department of Defense. The position will involve interfacing with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and government personnel.
Responsibilities
• Authoring Software User Manuals based on Software Engineering Documentation
• Development of content in PPT, Visio, Word, Adobe Products, Framemaker
• Proofreading/QA of Content
• Development of content in PPT, Visio, Word, Adobe Products, Framemaker
• Proofreading/QA of Content
Job Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Software & Hardware Documentation
• Minimum 1 year experience writing in Adobe Structured Framemaker, Robohelp, or other Technical Writing Authoring Tools
• Experience working with teams of technical writers, operations and logistics units
• Extremely detail oriented, highly organized, with ability to thoroughly and consistently follow through
• Ability to QA with an extreme eye for detail and consistency
• Experience with XML and HTML
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics using formal yet simplistic diction and grammar
• Problem solving skills
• Open to learning new software
• Ability to think on one's own and achieve goals with little to no external direction
• Experienced with working with Software Engineers to write documentation
• Able to deliver based on timeline, deliverables and budget
• US Citizenship required
• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• Position will require obtaining a SECRET level government clearance upon hire
